Social media video sizes (2025)
Every network shows videos in its own shape. Vertical 9:16 (1080 × 1920) fills the screen on TikTok, Reels, Shorts and Stories. The Instagram and Facebook feeds show 4:5 (1080 × 1350) at the largest size, while YouTube and X use landscape 16:9.
When the shape of your video doesn’t match, choose Fit with a blurred background to keep the whole picture, or Fill to crop — then drag the preview so faces and action stay in view. The safe zones show where the app puts buttons, usernames and captions.
Platforms change their limits from time to time. The presets use commonly documented values; if an upload is rejected, check the platform’s current help page.

Tips
- Adding a headline or captions to a vertical video? Try the TikTok / Reels / Shorts Converter.
- Need a size that isn’t listed? Use the Aspect Ratio Converter or the Video Resizer.
- Keep important text away from the bottom 20% of vertical videos — captions and buttons cover it.
- Shorter is better: cut the best moment first with the Video Trimmer.
