Why ToolCMB

A real audio editor — without installing one

Everything runs in your browser.

Precise waveform

Zoom in down to milliseconds, scroll with the overview bar and hear exactly where you cut.

Keep or delete

Save only the selection — or remove a part (a cough, an ad, a mistake) and join the rest without a click.

Ringtone maker

One click selects 30 or 40 seconds and exports an M4R ringtone for iPhone or an MP3 for Android.

Fade in & out

Smooth starts and endings in seconds — no abrupt cut-offs.

Same format & quality

MP3 stays MP3, WAV stays WAV — or convert to M4A, FLAC or OGG while cutting.

Keyboard shortcuts

Space = play, ← → = seek, I / O = set start / end, + / − = zoom.

Private

Your audio is processed on your device and never uploaded.

Free

No sign-up, no watermark, no time limits.

Cutting audio without losing quality

When you cut an MP3 the selected part is decoded and saved again in the same format at a matching bitrate, so the result sounds the same as the original. Choose WAV or FLAC if you plan to edit the clip further — they are lossless.

To make a ringtone, select the chorus (30 s works on every phone), add a short fade-out and save as M4R for iPhone or MP3 for Android. On iPhone, copy the M4R file via Finder/iTunes or open it with GarageBand to set it as ringtone.

Use Delete selection to remove something from the middle of a recording. Both sides are joined with a tiny crossfade, so you won’t hear a click at the joint.

Frequently asked questions

Can’t find your answer? Contact us — we reply quickly.

How do I cut an MP3 file?

Open the file, drag the two handles on the waveform around the part you want, click “Cut audio” and download the result.

Can I remove a part from the middle?

Yes. Select the part and choose “Delete selection”. The remaining audio is joined seamlessly.

How do I make an iPhone ringtone?

Select up to 40 seconds (use the 30 s or 40 s button), choose “M4R (iPhone ringtone)” as output format and download. Then sync it with Finder/iTunes or import it in GarageBand on your iPhone.

Does cutting reduce the quality?

MP3, M4A and OGG are re-encoded at a bitrate matching the original, which is practically transparent. WAV and FLAC stay lossless.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The waveform, the playback and the cutting all happen in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.

Which formats are supported?

MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, Opus and the sound of MP4, MOV and WebM videos. You can save as MP3, M4A, M4R, WAV, FLAC or OGG.

Can I set exact times?

Yes. Type the start and end time (e.g. 1:23.45) into the fields below the waveform or press I / O to use the playhead position.
