Making great-looking waveform images
A waveform shows how the loudness of a recording changes over time. Each bar represents a short slice of audio; its height is the loudest peak in that slice (or the average level with Smoother shape).
For social media, use a size preset and leave some padding. Fewer, wider bars (8–14 px with a 4–6 px gap) read well on phones; thin bars (2–3 px) look elegant on large prints. A gradient and a dark background are a safe, modern choice; choose Transparent to place the waveform on top of a photo or video.
SVG is ideal for print and design tools because it scales without losing sharpness. JSON exports raw peak data so web developers can render the waveform in their own player without decoding the audio again.

Tips
- Cut the audio to the part you want first with the Audio Cutter.
- Check the loudness of your track with the LUFS Calculator.
- Uneven volume makes flat waveforms — fix it with the Volume Normalizer.
- Make a voice recording tighter before visualizing it with the Silence Remover.

How do I make a waveform image from an MP3?
Drop the MP3 onto this page, choose a style, size and colors, then click “Download image”.
Can I get a transparent background?
Yes. Set Background to “Transparent” and export as PNG or SVG.
Which format is best for printing?
SVG — it is a vector file that stays sharp at any size. For photo services, export a large PNG (e.g. 3000 × 600 px or more).
Can I show only part of the song?
Yes. Open More options, switch on “Only a part of the audio” and drag the handles on the waveform.
What is the JSON export?
Min/max peak pairs compatible with the audiowaveform format, for web players such as wavesurfer.js or peaks.js.
Is my audio uploaded?
No. The waveform is calculated in your browser.
