- GA4 channel preview
- Bulk mode
- Local history
- Runs in your browser
Existing parameters and the fragment are kept. To edit an existing campaign URL, paste it here — its UTM parameters are loaded into the fields.
Who sends the traffic: a site, a newsletter name, an app.
The kind of traffic. Google Analytics 4 uses it to choose the channel.
Sources and mediums
Every destination is combined with every row.
The promotion or product launch this link belongs to.
Needed only when you import cost data into Google Analytics.
The paid keyword, if there is one.
Tells two links in the same ad or e-mail apart.
In bulk mode you can use placeholders: {source} {medium} {campaign} {host} {path} {n}.
Result
Enter your website URL to build the campaign link.
Parameters in this URL
| Parameter | Value | Type |
|---|
Result
Add destination URLs and at least one source / medium row to generate every combination.
| # | Destination | Source / medium | GA4 channel | Campaign URL |

Advanced: GA4 extras, custom parameters, internal link check
Google Analytics 4 also reads these three optional parameters.
Custom parameters
Extra parameters for your own systems, such as a coupon code. Their values are not lowercased.
Optional. If the destination is on this site you get a warning: UTM parameters on internal links overwrite the original source of the visit.
Formatting
Google Analytics 4 does not read campaign parameters from the fragment on its own. Use this only if your site or tag setup moves them into the page URL before the tag fires.
History
Every URL you copy is saved here. The history is stored only in this browser on this device — it is never uploaded, and clearing your browser data removes it.
No saved URLs yet. Copy a campaign URL and it appears here.
| Copied | Campaign URL | Source / medium | Actions |

No saved URL matches your search.
How to build a campaign URL
The link updates while you type.
- 1
Enter the website URL
Paste the page you want to link to. Parameters already in the address are kept; an existing campaign URL is loaded into the fields for editing.
- 2
Fill in source, medium and campaign
Use a preset or type the values. The builder shows the GA4 default channel and warns when a value would be reported as “Unassigned”.
- 3
Copy the link
Copy the campaign URL, open it to test, or turn it into a QR code. Every URL you copy is added to the history in this browser.
Campaign links that report correctly
Built around how Google Analytics 4 reads UTM parameters.
GA4 channel preview
Shows the default channel — Email, Paid Social, Organic Social, Paid Search, Affiliates and so on — that follows from your source and medium by Google’s documented rules.
Bulk mode
Combines every destination URL with every source / medium row, with placeholders such as <code>{source}</code> or <code>{path}</code> for the content value. Copy all or export as CSV.
Presets
Ready source / medium pairs for Meta ads, an Instagram bio, LinkedIn ads, newsletters, transactional e-mail, SMS, QR codes, affiliates, display, push and podcasts.
Consistent formatting
Lowercases values, trims spaces, replaces spaces with an underscore, hyphen, %20 or + and can remove accents — so one campaign does not split into several rows.
Checks
Flags missing parameters, uppercase letters, an e-mail address in a value, links to your own website, http addresses, repeated parameters and URLs that are too long.
History and near-match hints
Copied URLs are kept in this browser, searchable and exportable. A value that almost matches one you used before is pointed out.
Private by design
Everything runs in your browser. What you type, paste or open is not sent to a server.
Free, no sign-up
No account, no limits, no watermark — on a phone, tablet or computer.
UTM parameters explained
UTM parameters are tags added to the query string of a link, such as ?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=spring_sale. They do not change the page. The analytics tool on the landing page reads them and records where the visit came from. Source names who sends the traffic, medium the kind of traffic, campaign the promotion. Term holds a paid keyword and content tells two links in the same ad or e-mail apart. Google Analytics 4 additionally reads utm_id, utm_source_platform, utm_creative_format and utm_marketing_tactic.
Google Analytics 4 sorts each visit into a default channel group using mainly the medium and the source. A medium of email becomes Email, cpc or ppc with a search engine as source becomes Paid Search, and social becomes Organic Social. A value GA4 does not recognize — a medium called newsletter or facebook_post, for instance — ends up in “Unassigned”. That is why the medium should come from a small fixed vocabulary, while source and campaign can be chosen freely.
The values are case-sensitive: Email and email appear as two separate rows, and so do spring sale and spring_sale. Agree on lowercase and one separator, and keep to it. Never tag links between pages of your own website: each click would start a new session and overwrite the real origin of the visit. Do not put names, e-mail addresses or other personal data into the values, and keep in mind that visitors can see and edit everything in the address bar.
The five standard UTM parameters
| Parameter | Answers the question | Example |
|---|---|---|
| <code>utm_source</code> | Who sent the visitor? | google, newsletter, facebook |
| <code>utm_medium</code> | Through what kind of channel? | cpc, email, social, affiliate |
| <code>utm_campaign</code> | Which promotion is it part of? | spring_sale, product_launch |
| <code>utm_term</code> | Which paid keyword? | running_shoes |
| <code>utm_content</code> | Which link or creative was clicked? | header_button, banner_blue |
Tips
- Print campaigns need a scannable link: turn the finished URL into a code with the QR Code Generator.
- Check that the landing page does not redirect in a way that drops the parameters with the Redirect Checker.
- Tagged links create duplicate addresses of the same page. Give the landing page a canonical tag from the Canonical URL Generator.
- To see what an encoded value really contains, decode it with the URL Encoder-Decoder.

Which UTM parameters are required?
Technically none, but a link is only useful with utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign. This builder treats these three as required and reports when one is missing. Term, content and the others are optional.
Are UTM parameters case-sensitive?
Yes. Google Analytics reports Email, EMAIL and email as three different values. Lowercase everywhere is the usual convention, and it is this builder’s default.
Do UTM parameters affect SEO?
Not directly — they are tracking tags. But each tagged link is another address for the same page, so the page should carry a canonical tag that points to the clean URL. Avoid tagged links in places search engines crawl, such as your own navigation.
Should I use UTM parameters on internal links?
No. A tagged internal link starts a new session and replaces the original source of the visit, so a visitor who came from an ad is suddenly attributed to your own banner. Use event tracking for clicks inside the site.
Why does my campaign show up as “Unassigned” in GA4?
Because the source and medium match none of the rules of the default channel group. Usually the medium is the cause: use a recognized value such as cpc, email, social, paid_social, affiliate, display, sms or push, or define a custom channel group in GA4.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input is not uploaded, logged or stored on our servers.
